What happens if my pet gets sick?
If Pet Pals of Houston pet sitters encounters a pet or home emergency or if your pet gets sick, we will try to reach you. If we are unable to contact you, we will try to reach your emergency contact person. If we are unable to reach anyone, we will decide the appropriate action to protect and care for your pet and home. If your pet has a health emergency or becomes sick, we will contact your veterinarian or an emergency clinic and transport your pet, if needed.

Do I need to leave a key with a neighbor?
Yes, give a key to a trusted neighbor and give him or her and your pet sitter each other’s phone numbers. Make sure all keys work properly.

Can I extend the service while I am away?
Of course. Just let us know as soon as possible of your change in plans, and we will continue to care for your pets until your rescheduled return.

Do I need to buy extra pet supplies?
Yes, stock extra pet supplies in case you’re away longer than planned. Put all the pet food and supplies in one place.




Does Pet Pals of Houston require any other supplies?
Pet sitters may need to clean up a pet-related accident. So leave cleaning supplies including bags for animal waste, paper towels, carpet cleaners, etc.

What do you need to walk my dog?
First, teach your dog to walk on a leash. Also, put current identification tags on your pet’s collar. Please supply a leash.

Can I leave my house alarm on?
Yes. Show your pet sitter your home’s safety features such as the circuit breaker and security system and codes.

Can you supply references?
We will be happy to provide you with the names and contact information of some of our clients, The human ones, that is! Plus, check out our testimonials page for words from our customers.
